Doctors

Career description

We all know what and who a doctor is – in Pakistan it is considered very prestigious to be one. Doctors save lives. They examine, diagnose, and cure people with health issues. They can specialize in different areas of health whether in neurology, gynecology, dentistry, family health, general health etc..

In Pakistan, there is a serious lack of female doctors. In a country where women have trouble visiting male doctors, you should consider it an extremely real contribution to make within your society. 90% of women in Pakistan who take seats in medical schools, do not continue in the professional field after completing their medical education. Not only does this deprive the country of women doctors, it has also caused schools to limit seats reserved for girls in the medical study. They consider it a waste of resources. This then has created limited chances for those who really want to pursue this goal. It becomes a self-perpetuating cycle. If you aim to be a doctor make a promise to yourself and the society at large!

Some of us just have a natural way with kids – they respond well to us and are comfortable around us. Those who have this innate ability should really give their time to child care.

Childcare workers care for children when parents and other family members are unavailable,  such as when both parents are working or are away. They care for children’s basic needs, such as bathing, feeding, homework etc. In Pakistan, there is the availability of daycares but in a very small amount. As women increase their participation in the workforce or single parents who are struggling and could do with a hand, such facilities are becoming all the more crucial.
